What to do if you want to terminate a subnet before the set Expiry Date?

These are the conditions you need to be familiar with if you wish to terminate/remove a subnet from IPXO:

  1. The subnet is not leased
  2. The subnet is leased/partly leased (with 3-month notice)
  3. The subnet is leased/partly leased (without 3-month notice)

1. The subnet is not leased

If you want to terminate a subnet before the Expiry Date, and the subnet is not leased, per our Terms of Service, you can terminate it at any time before the beginning of the Lease period

2. The subnet is leased/partly leased (with 3-month notice)

According to the IPXO Terms of Service section H. Amendments and termination, point 4.

The IP HOLDER shall be entitled to terminate the Lease with a notice period of 3 (three) months, but the termination of the Lease before its expiry will incur cancellation penalties. IPXO has the right to charge a notified cancellation fee, calculated based on IPXO’s commission fee (based on size of active Lease), multiplied by the number of months of the Initial period and number of active Leases.  The Payouts of Lease which is to be terminated, are no longer calculated.

3. The subnet is leased/partly leased (without 3-month notice)

According to the IPXO Terms of Service section H. Amendments and termination, point 5.

The IP HOLDER agrees that stopping any active Lease without a prior notice of 3 months will incur instant cancellation fee, calculated depending on the number of active Leases disrupted for 12 months, whereas the penalty fee of one disrupted active Lease for one month will be based on the price of IP Numbers, set by IP HOLDER.

Immediately: If you select this option, the subnet will be terminated within 30-60 minutes and any pending invoices for the subnet will be cancelled. Please select this option if you wish to cancel subnets that are being refunded or returned to the Platform for other reasons.

Note: If you choose to terminate before the subnet's expiration date, the remaining paid amount will not be returned automatically.

How to stop the announcement

Once the subnet is terminated on your account, you will be informed about the termination via email. Once that is done, you must make sure it is not announced by your service provider (ASN) to avoid using the subnet without service renewal. In case the subnet is announced without service renewal, an additional invoice might be generated to cover the subnet's usage without renewal.

Please refer to our Terms of Service for more information about subnet termination and contact us via help.ipxo.com for further assistance.
